Anti-social behaviour, Hayle Towan's |
||
|
Dear Parents and Carers,
I would like to introduce myself as the new Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) for Hayle and the surrounding areas. I am writing on behalf of the local Neighbourhood Policing Team regarding ongoing concerns surrounding large groups of young people gathering around Hayle Beach and the dunes area.
- Underage alcohol consumption, with officers confiscating alcohol from several young people.
The impact on local residents has been significant. Several individuals have reported feeling unsafe in the area, and there is growing concern regarding the disruption and distress being caused. This behaviour is also creating a negative perception of young people within the community and placing increasing demands on police resources during the busy summer period.
We are working closely with partner agencies to address these issues through high-visibility patrols, engagement with young people, intelligence gathering and enforcement action where appropriate. However, we are asking for the support of parents and carers in helping us reinforce the following messages:
- To behave responsibly and respectfully when visiting beaches and other public spaces.
We recognise that the vast majority of young people behave responsibly and are a credit to their families and community. However, a small number of individuals are having a significant impact on others, and we hope that by working together we can prevent further incidents and ensure that Hayle remains a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
We would encourage parents and carers to speak with their children about these concerns and to be aware of where they are spending their time, particularly during the school holidays.
Thank you for your continued support and assistance.
Kind regards,
The Neighbourhood Team encourage any persons who experience anti-social behaviour, and anyone with information, to report this via our website or phone 101 in a non-emergency. Please phone 999 in an emergency. We aim to increase patrols where possible.
